Highway Patrol: Woman driving with 2 flat tires crashed head-on into car

AMHERST, Ohio- The Ohio State Highway Patrol said an accident involving two cars on SR 58 and Middle Ridge Rd. in Amherst was caused by a person driving with two flat tires at around 1 Monday afternoon.

The highway patrol said the woman driving with the flat tires went left of center, and crashed head-on into a car. Both drivers were injured and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

A witness reported the driver ran a red light and he could see flames coming from under the car before the crash.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
