Backlash on Twitter: Malaysia Airlines apologizes for promotional tweet

Malaysia Airlines is apologizing after one of its promotional tweets upset several of its Twitter followers.

According to Yahoo News, Malaysia Airlines tweeted the following: “Want to go somewhere, but don’t know where?” as part of a year-end campaign to promote special deals.

Malaysia Airlines back in September changed the name of another promotion many were also upset with. The promotion asked customers which places were on their bucket list.

The airline suffered two deadly disasters this year. A jet with 239 people went missing March 8 while en route to Beijing. No trace of it has been found. Then in July, a jet was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.
