MENTOR, OH — Firefighters were called to the Mentor Wastewater Treatment Facility Friday afternoon after plant personnel reported smelling smoke.

When fire crews arrived, they found a building housing wood chips filled with smoke.

Due to the amount of wood chips, extra crews were called to the scene.

After containing the fire, heavy equipment was used to remove the 1,000 yards of wood chips and sprayed them down outside to prevent them from catching fire again.

There was no damage to the building and no one was hurt.

There was minor smoke damage to a truck parked inside.
