DERBY, UK — A couple married for 65 years died just minutes apart earlier this month.

According to the Mirror, Harry, 88, and Mavis Stevenson, 89, lived at a care home for the elderly.

Harry moved there with Mavis because the couple did not want to live apart, according to family members.

They shared a bedroom, and Harry would look after Mavis.

After her health began to fail, Mavis eventually passed away at 10:50 a.m. on Nov. 3.

Nurses told her husband what happened, and he cried a few tears. Less than 10 minutes later, he passed away himself.

“They would not have wanted to live without each other, so I think it was the perfect ending,” the couple’s nephew, Stephen Cresswell, told the Mirror.
