WOOSTER, Ohio– The Wooster City School District will be closed Friday because of a written threat against the district.
According to a press release, the Wooster Police Department discovered the letter on Thursday. Though police are investigating, the letter is currently unsubstantiated.
Superintendent Dr. Michael Tefs said in the release, “The safety of our students is our number one priority. We are taking this matter for seriously and are working closely with Chief Fisher of the Wooster Police Department. As a precaution, we felt it was in the best interest of our students and school community to close our schools. The police department will continue to investigate this matter and the school district will keep our families and the community updated as necessary. Again, the safety of our students is our number one priority.”
