Heavy snow leads to traffic troubles, parking bans

The first snow of the season is really piling up in some parts of Northeast Ohio.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Ashtabula County until Saturday at 9 a.m.

A Lake Effect Snow Advisory has also been issued until 9 a.m. Saturday for Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties.

Snow parking bans and driving alerts are already starting to come in. Follow the latest lists below:

SNOW EMERGENCIES:

*Mentor–Residents are advised to limit travel as much as possible, to remain alert to emergency vehicles who are very active during this storm event, and to refrain from parking on all City streets.

SNOW PARKING BANS:

*Kirtland
*Mentor
*Painesville

ROAD ADVISORY:

*Northern portion of Lake County- all non-essential travel discouraged

The Lake County Sheriff has issued a roadway advisory for the northern part of the county as they try to clear the roads. The sheriff is discouraging all non-essential travel.
