Best week yet! Final scores for week 8 of high school football

Week 8 of high school football featured some high-profile games.


In the Dodd Camera Game of the Week, the Strongsville Mustangs traveled to Hudson to take on the number 1 team in the Fox 8 Top 8, the Hudson Explorers.  Hudson won: 41-7.

The second-ranked team in the Top 8, the Mentor Cardinals, put their unbeaten mark on the line when they hosted the always tough Solon Comets. The result? Mentor won it, 42-16.

Number 3 St. Edward has a home affair on Saturday against Eastern Christian Academy.

Number 4 Nordonia, a high-scoring machine welcomed Tallmadge to Macedonia and then sent them home with a loss. The final score: 40-7.

The Bedford Bearcats check in at number 5. They traveled to Barberton and won, 35-14; while number 6 St. Ignatius will face its first in state opponent in 6 weeks when they tangle with Cincinnati Moeller on Saturday.

Number 7 Midview is scoring 40 points a game and they really outdid themselves tonight;  they beat Elyria Catholic, 62-27.

Defending Division 6 champion Kirtland beat Berkshire, 48-7; the Chardon Hilltoppers beat Painesville Riverside, 22-15.
