MENTOR, Ohio -- The family of a Mentor High School football player is asking for prayers after the freshman was injured during a game Thursday night.

The student, Matt Gianfagna, was airlifted to a MetroHealth Medical Center after he was hurt during a game against Brunswick. He is currently in critical condition.

Gianfagna's mom, Crystal Westbrook, told Fox 8's Kevin Freeman at the hospital late Thursday night that her son had an MRI and had feeling in his hands and arms. He did have limited movement overall, and was being kept in the hospital overnight, she said.
