CLEVELAND, Ohio —  A $1 million bond has been set for a man dubbed the ‘early morning rapist.’

James Daniel III was video arraigned Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. He was indicted last week for the rapes of three women.  He is accused of raping a woman who was jogging on West 104th in Cleveland Sept. 2, and in an Aug. 30 rape of a woman in Lakewood.

His DNA is also linked to a rape that happened in 2000.

The judge ordered this morning that Daniel be tested for HIV.

Meanwhile, according to a Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office report Daniel is accused of shattering a window in his jail cell on Sept. 21.

Jail officials say Daniel has now been moved to cell without a window, and he may be charged with vandalism.

Daniel is due back in court next week for a pretrial on the rape charges.
