MONROEVILLE, Ohio — A school district in Huron County canceled class for Tuesday because of a domestic incident.

According to the Monroeville police, officers were called to a trailer near Route 20 and Perkins Alley around 2:30 a.m. for a dispute.

They were trying to make contact with a man inside who may have a weapon and the efforts lasted into the morning rush hour.

Monroeville Local Schools first declared a two-hour delay then canceled class entirely because buses would have to drive by the scene.

Police said there were no hostages involved and the standoff ended just after 10 a.m.
