BAY VILLAGE, Ohio-- A 14-year-old boy is arrested after leading police on a high speed chase.

Bay Village police say the pursuit started with an attempted traffic stop Saturday at 12:25 a.m. on Wolf Road in front of Bay Square.

Dash cam video captured the events as the 2009 Kia failed to stop and then turned onto Dover Center Road.

Unbeknownst to officers, the boy was behind the wheel as the car then took off at a high rate of speed heading south on Detroit Road, zooming around cars and potentially into on-coming traffic on the two-lane road.

Police say, and the video shows, the car going airborne as it hit a small hill on the road near the railroad tracks.

The car continued on at a high rate of speed into Westlake before being finally stopping in Fairview Park.

Police say it’s just lucky no one was hurt.

The teen was taken into custody without incident and faces a number of charges in both Westlake and Bay Village including reckless operation; willfully fleeing or eluding officers; and driving in marked lanes and left of center.
