WILLOUGHBY, Ohio– Willoughby police say a man tried to steal several items from a Heinen’s grocery store by putting them down his pants.

Police say they got a call Saturday night that a man was seen walking through the store hiding four bottles of olive oil in his pants and trying to leave without paying for the items worth $74.

The suspect was identified as Thomas Leach, 66. He was arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor theft.

Police say Leach was suspected of a similar theft at the Willoughby Giant Eagle store in July.
