Victim of east side house fire identified

CLEVELAND — The man who died after being pulled from a burning multi-unit home on Cleveland’s east side Thursday has been identified.

The victim is Robert Delitoy Jr., 69, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The flames began shortly after 3 a.m. on Farringdon Avenue.

Delitoy was unconscious when firefighters arrived and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he passed away.

No firefighters were injured.

It was not clear how the fire started.
