A lighthearted comment turned into an incredible event we couldn't have imagined.

We are counting down to the second annual 'FOX 8 FOX Trot,' which is presented by your 'Northern Ohio Honda Dealers.'

The race takes place, Sunday August 24 at Voinvoich Park.

The walk begins at 8 a.m. The 5-K run will happen an hour later at 9 a.m.

Net proceeds from the race will be donated to the 'Wounded Warrior Project.'

Everyone who registers to run in the 5-K or the one-mile walk, will get a 'FOX Trot' t-shirt and a 'Wounded Warrior Project' wristband.

To register for the race click here. You can also register for either the race or 5-k on the day of the event.

Now, with the second annual 'FOX 8 FOX Trot' just weeks away, we want to take you back to where it all began.

FOX 8's Gabe Spiegel takes us back to the beginning in the video above.
