EATON TOWNSHIP, Ohio-- Eagles Nest Drive in Eaton Township is full of beautiful homes with beautiful yards, but there’s an eyesore there that’s pretty hard to miss.
“We've had all of these pieces of concrete just stick out and we've had holes that go down a foot and we've had to drive around this for months,” said resident, Chris Thomas, as he stood on the street.
He said the street has been deteriorating for a while and adds that it isn’t just unsightly, but also dangerous.
He said they don’t have street lights so a driver unfamiliar with the area could easily drive right over the jagged pieces of concrete at night.
“We've got nice homes, but the roads, I mean it looks like we're in some kind of battlefield or something; it's just terrible,” said another resident.
Crews have patched up the holes in the past, but they never lasted.
Thomas said he and other neighbors have tried to talk with township trustees, but said they never had much luck. That all changed Tuesday night; he was told permanent repairs would be made.
“County officials were out here this morning taking measurements as well as one of the trustees and they will be coming up with a bid on Saturday, so they should start work in about a month,” he said.
