CINCINNATI, Ohio — Starter Danny Salazar was way too generous to Reds’ batters on Wednesday night as the Indians were beaten down, 8-3, at The Great American Ball Park.

Zack Cozart clubbed a 3-run homer to stake the home team to a 3-0 lead. It got worse. Kristopher Negron belted a 2-run shot and it was quickly 5-0.

Mat Latos out-pitched Salazar by a country mile. He went 7 and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and three runs to get the win. He is now 4-3.

Salazar only lasted 4 innings to take the loss.

Team Streak is at it again. After posting a nice looking 4-game win streak over the weekend and into this week, the Indians have now lost 2 in a row.

The Indians got all their runs in the 8th inning. Yan Gomes hit his 16th homer of the year, a solo shot. Ryan Raburn doubled in Kipnis and Aviles to make the final 8-3.

They wrap their series with the Reds in Cincinnati Thursday night.
