CPD explains how police cruiser hit porch

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police released more information on an incident that sent three officers to the hospital.

Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the officers were responding to an emergency call alerting them that shots had been fired and officers were chasing the suspect on foot.

Two police cars were responding to help when they collided at the intersection of East 136th Street and Eaglesmere, the Cleveland Division of Police said.

One of the cruisers hit and damaged the porch area of a house in the 13500 block of Eaglesmere.

No citizens were hurt.

All of the officers were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where they were treated and released.

Their injuries were described as minor.
