Cleveland Foundation announces ‘classic’ August gift

CLEVELAND — Classic movies at a classic movie theater.  The Cleveland Foundation announced its August gift is Weekend at Cinema at The Square!

Families may reserve up to six tickets to enjoy a movie at Palace Theater in PlayhouseSquare the weekend of Aug. 21-24.

Tickets will be available beginning Friday on the Cleveland Foundation’s website or by contacting the PlayhouseSquare box office.

Five movies will be shown, including:

  • Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • Muppets Take Manhattan
  • Karate Kid
  • Sound of Music
  • Singing in the Rain

Special events will take place along with each movie, such as a red carpet entry and a singalong before each show.

Guests are also encouraged to wear costumes and may parade across the stage if they do.

The Cleveland Foundation has given a gift each month of the year to celebrate its 100th birthday.

The charitable organization was created by and for the community.
