Tribe falls to Mariners, 5-2

CLEVELAND — The Mariners scored 4 runs in the fourth inning on Tuesday night and that was good enough for the Mariners to take a 5-2 victory at Progressive Field.

The visitors plated 5 runs on 8 hits against Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer.  He lasted but 4 and one third innings.

Dustin Ackley had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs for Seattle.

Jason Kipnis and Yan Gomes drove in the Tribe’s runs in a two-run 5th inning. The Indians were only 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position.

Cleveland and Seattle meet in game two on Wednesday night at Progressive Field.   Cleveland is now 2 games under .500 for the serason.
