SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio -- I-90 at SR 254 reopened Tuesday following a head-on crash that temporarily shut down the highway.

It happened around 10:45 a.m.

Police Chief Larry Bliss said Kevin McHue, 25, was driving westbound on I-90 when he collided with another vehicle.

The impact of that collision caused him to cross over the median, and his car then crashed head-on with a Chevy driven by Adam Couture, 21, of Massachusetts.

Couture was visiting his grandparents in Michigan for his 21st birthday, which was Sunday, and was on his way back home when the crash happened.

Couture and McHue were taken by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. Couture is in fair condition; McHue's father says his son is in serious condition.
