HOUSTON, Texas –It was a flag signed by fellow marines, meant to be given to the family of Lance Cpl. Fred Maciel, after he died in Iraq in 2005.

Somehow, the flag got lost; now, almost a decade later, it’s where it belongs: with his family.

The way it was found and returned is amazing.

According to KHOU, a man, who saw the heartfelt messages on it, bought it for $5 at a flea market. He and his family tracked down Maciel’s mom and returned it to her.
