Becoming successful may be easier if you’re in a job you love.

A study published in the Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences looked at motivation.

According to the Huffington Post, it found the most successful West Point graduates who went on to become Army officers had internal motivation.

The study surveyed 11,320 cadets and followed their careers for up to 14 years.

Those who were motivated by monetary rewards were more likely to perform poorly and quit early.
