Thousands gather for American Idol auditions in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Thousands of people gathered on the campus of Capital University Saturday for their chance at becoming the next American Idol.

People from across Northeast Ohio made their way to Columbus for the audition including FOX 8’s Gabe Spiegel.

American Idol is in its 14th season.

Auditions ran from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on the campus.  American Idol producer, Robert McLeod, gave us some inside tips on how to make it to Hollywood. The biggest piece of advice MeLeod had was don’t hold back, and don’t be afraid of the judges. MeLeod said too often people fear the judges, but said people should realize that they want you to succeed as well.
