SHEFFIELD LAKE, Ohio — Police are asking the public for help finding an escaped prisoner who fled from Mercy Hospital in Lorain.

According to Sheffield Lake police, Jeremy Frey was incarcerated in Sheffield Lake City Jail on Friday around 5 p.m on a felony charge of domestic violence.

Frey complained of an illness while in jail, said police, and was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

While at the hospital, Frey was able to remove his IV and escape past hospital security personnel.

Frey’s whereabouts are unknown, and he is currently wanted on a felony charge of escape.

Police believe he will obtain assistance from family and friends, and police said anyone who assists him could be charged with a felony offense.
