8-year-old killed, other pedestrians injured by driver at intersection

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — An eight-year-old boy was killed and other pedestrians injured after a 62-year-old driver hit them in an intersection Saturday.

According to Chagrin Falls Police Department, it happened at about noon at the intersection of East Washington and South Franklin streets.

Police say the boy and other pedestrians were hit by a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old female. The driver was taken to Ahuja Medical Center, and the others were taken to Hillcrest Hospital by Chagrin Falls, Bainbridge and Solon rescue squads.

The accident is now under investigation.
