Remembering Jim Brennan: Funeral held for local restaurant owner

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A large crowd gathered today for the funeral of a local restaurant owner and community leader.

Jim Brennan was shot at Brennan's Colony, the restaurant he owned in Cleveland Heights  on Monday around 1 p.m.

According to Cleveland Heights police, two suspects broke in to the closed bar.  Brennan was shot several times during a struggle and later died. Four men have been charged with his murder and gave full confessions to police.

The funeral mass for Brennan, 61, of Gates Mills, was held at Gesu Church (2470 Miramar Blvd. in University Heights) at 9 a.m.   Interment at All Souls Cemetery (10366 Chardon Rd. in Chardon).

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate contributions to the Rose-Mary Center or the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in his memory.
