My Town: Snow leopard cubs set to make debut

AKRON, Ohio — A pair of baby cubs will make their debut at The Akron Zoo this Friday.

Their Fourth of July debut will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and will gradually increase as the cubs mature.

The cubs’ names will also be revealed during their first exhibit appearance. Zookeepers say animals are 11-weeks-old, with the female weighing 10 lbs. 14 ounces and a male weighing 9 lbs. 11 ounces. The are also developing normally.

According to The Akron Zoo there are less than 150 of the animals in the Species Survival Plan, and less than 4,000 left in the wild.
