COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities have identified the off-duty firefighter who has been hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest following a lightning strike outside an Ohio soccer stadium before an MLS game.

Columbus Fire Department Battalion Chief Tracy Smith says Lt. Stu Tudor is listed in critical condition Sunday morning at the Ohio State Medical Center.

Smith says the lightning strike was in the parking lot of Crew Stadium on Saturday night. She said it’s not known if Tudor was struck directly.

A storm with heavy rain and lightning bursts rolled through about 15 minutes before the scheduled 8 p.m. kickoff between the Columbus Crew and FC Dallas. The game was postponed and rescheduled for Sunday afternoon.
