CLEVELAND — There’s an adorable new addition at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. A giraffe was born at the zoo on Sunday.

The female calf, who is almost 6-ft. tall and weighs 123 lbs., was born to first-time mom, Jhasmin, and dad, Travis.

The newborn doesn’t have a name just yet; the zoo is making plans for the public to name the giraffe and will announce more details soon.

The Zoo’s Director of Animal and Veterinary Programs, Andi Kornak, said, “The baby is doing well and Jhasmin is proving to be a very attentive and nurturing parent. They will continue to spend bonding time together before the little one is introduced to the rest of the herd and joins them on exhibit.”
