‘I’m not some kingpin’: ‘Dreamy’ felon speaks out from jail on Internet stardom

STOCKTON, Calif. — The man who became an Internet sensation after being arrested in a firearms sweep this week is speaking out from jail.

Jeremy Meeks, 30, was arrested Wednesday on felony weapon charges. His mug shot was posted on the Stockton Police Department’s Facebook page, and has since gone viral.

In an interview from jail with ABC News10, Meeks said he wants the public to know “this really isn’t me. I’m not some kingpin.”

He previously also allegedly spent nine years in jail for grand theft.

Many are being disappointed with the news that Meeks is married and has children.
