CHICAGO – The parents of an alleged bully are being sued in a lawsuit that claims they failed to discipline their child to stop the behavior or remove him from school.

According to WGN, a Chicago-area mother said her third grade son was attacked on a weekly basis by another third grader.

She claims the boy was punched, choked, kicked and spat on.

The school principal and school district are also named in the lawsuit.

WGN reported a statement from the school district said, “As a district, and at each of our schools, we value the safety and security of each and every one of our students and staff members and take bullying prevention very seriously. We work diligently to provide a healthy, productive environment for all of our students to learn and grow.”

The parents of the alleged bully did not comment.
