2 arrested in string of armed gas station robberies

WICKLIFFE, Ohio — Officers from several police departments have arrested two men in connection with a rash of gas station robberies that happened earlier this month.

According to Wickliffe Police Department, Henry Ivezzy II, 25, of Garfield Heights, and Valaugn Griggs, 21, of Cleveland Heights, face charges of aggravated robbery.

Ivezzy was arrested during a traffic stop on Tuesday and Griggs at his home on Wednesday.

The two were suspects in four robberies in Wickliffe, Parma, Macedonia and Independence on June 2 and June 4. Police said no one was hurt in the crimes, but a weapon was displayed in each incident.

Detectives analyzed video, conducted records checks and interviews and surveillance. They also received tips after releasing video of the Wickliffe robbery to the public.

Additional charges are expected to be filed against both men.
