Indians fall to Royals, 9-5

KANSAS CITY, Missouri– Corey Kluber had an amazing month of May; his June has not gotten off to a good start.

Kluber had a second straight start that was too generous to the opposing team as the Royals touched him for 6 runs in just 5 innings on their way to a 9-5 victory.

Omar Infante drove in the first run for the Royals in the bottom of the third as Mike Moustakas scored.

Eric Hosmer got the second run home on a ground out to make it 2-0. Still in the bottom of the third inning, Billy Butler singled in two more runs for a 4-0 Kansas City lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hosmer stroked a 2-run homer and the Royals led 6-0.

Cleveland cut the lead in half in the eighth inning when Jason Kipnis doubled in Cabrera and Brantley.  t would become 6-3 when Carlos Santana singled in one more run.

The home team scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to make it 9-3; then 2 more in the 9th.

The Indians take on the Royals again on Wednesday afternoon.
