BOSTON, Massachusetts-- Twins are born 24 days apart. Doctors performed a rare delivery to save both children, according to WCVB.

They report Alexandre was born more than three weeks before his brother, Ronaldo.

WCVB said Linda Dasilva went into labor only 24 weeks into her pregnancy.

Alexandre was placed in intensive care and doctors said the second baby needed to stay in mom's womb a little longer.

Doctors call it a "delayed twin delivery" and said Linda was a perfect candidate.

Twenty-four days later, Ronaldo was born healthy. Alexandre is doing well, too.
