MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A woman in a motorized wheelchair was robbed at knifepoint and police hope something the getaway car did will help them find the suspect.

The 53-year-old victim was targeted as she traveled eastbound on the sidewalk along Mayfield Road under the I-271 bridge around 3 p.m. Thursday.

A man approached from behind, held out a knife, and made the woman empty her purse.

A getaway vehicle sped past them and made a sudden stop on Mayfield Road.  The suspect then jumped in the passenger's side and it took off again.

Investigators ask that anyone who noticed a vehicle operating in that manner give them a call.

The victim described the car as gray or silver, possibly a Chevrolet or General Motors style with rust on the bottom of the doors.

The driver was wearing a hoodie.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s, about 6'0"-6'2" with a thin build.  He weighed approximately 170 pounds, had dark hair and was clean-shaven.

He wore a blue ball cap, blue hoodie and jeans.  He also had pierced ears and wore tinted glasses.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Mayfield Heights Police Department at 440-442-2323.
