BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say all seven people aboard a private plane that crashed in a Massachusetts air field and erupted into a fireball have been killed.

Matthew Brelis, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which operates Hanscom Field in Bedford, where the crash occurred said there were no survivors.

The Gulfstream IV was leaving about 9:40 p.m. Saturday for Atlantic City International Airport in New Jersey when it crashed and caught fire.

Nearby residents recounted seeing a fireball and feeling the blast of the explosion shake their homes.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.

Authorities did not say what they think caused the crash, but said the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
