Mom Sues School Over Daughter’s Gym Class Injury
A mother who claims a school’s negligence resulted in her daughter’s permanent ankle injury has filed a lawsuit.
According to NJ.com, the family attorney said the 13-year-old shattered her ankle while playing touch football on a wet field during gym class.
The suit said school officials should have known the conditions “could foreseeably result” in an injury.
It also said multiple students had already fallen and suffered minor injuries.
The incident happened in October but the suit was made public this week.
The Board of Education and the gym teacher were named as defendants, along with the township which is responsible for cutting the grass.
The district’s interim superintendent said there will be no comment because the suit was a “confidential matter,” NJ.com reported.
