JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A happy ending for one couple who lost a diamond engagement ring in the water nearly a year ago.

Eric and Courtney Vidrine were wading in the water at Jacksonville Beach when it happened, according to WJXT.

Courtney reached down, and the ring fell off her finger into the tide. The couple thrashed at the water, trying to find it, but knew it was gone.

They never found it, and went on with their lives.

Then just a few days ago, David Sielaff was using his metal detector in the sand. He found what he thought was a fishing sinker, but upon closer inspection, realized it was a ring.

He found a serial number on the ring and was able to hunt down the Vidrines.

Sielaff got to return it to them in person, and that reunion was caught on video.
