BEACHWOOD, Ohio -- The event was called Flowers for Aliza. But, those who knew and loved the murdered woman are seeking justice for Aliza Sherman.

Dozens of people gathered at Beachwood Park on Mother's Day to remember Sherman and to remind the public that her killer has not been caught.

The Beachwood mother of four was stabbed to death outside the Erieview Plaza in Downtown Cleveland on March 24, 2013. This is the second Mother’s Day Jennifer Sherman is without her mom.

"So much of who I am is because of the special woman you are. That's why I feel so blessed to call you my mother. Happy Mother's Day, mom,” she read from a card.

Laura Cowan had never met Aliza Sherman. Now, she will never forget her.

"It was just sad the way she was stabbed like that. We have to come together as a community and find out who killed her. We won't let this rest,” she said holding a collage poster of Sherman.

Sherman loved flowers and would often share them. Her daughter hopes that people will do the same and plant a flower in her mother’s memory.

"She was always bringing people flowers," she said. "She always had flowers in the house. She planted flowers in front of the house. And, I think it is very symbolic. They are very cheerful. You look at them and they brighten up your day. They remind me of my mom.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for Aliza Sherman’s murder.

Anonymous tips can be directed to the Cleveland Police or Crimestoppers at 216-252-7463.
