CANTON, Ohio — Aspen, the dog who was missing after a fatal crash in Canton, has been found dead, according to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
A search was underway for the dog, who hadn’t been seen since the crash that killed a father and his 3-month-old daughter last week.
Paul T. Guthrie, 24, was driving west on U.S. 30 at the I-77 South on-ramp when his SUV tumbled 10 stories over the edge of a bridge into the Nimisillen Creek. Guthrie and his daughter, Gabriella, were killed.
His wife, Kymberlie, 26, and daughter Emelyn, 15 months, survived.
The humane society believed the dog was in the vehicle with the family and started the search following the crash.
Sunday, they said the dog was found upstream from the accident by two fishermen.
