This year's winner of the Cleveland Clinic Courage Award is Jacob Miller.

Miller was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition at the age of 10.

Years passed and he grew weaker.  He  battled for his life until a heart became available.

After his transplant he spent a month at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital to recover.

The award recognizes Miller's strength and positive attitude through it all.

It will be presented Friday at 6 p.m. the Cleveland Clinic Children's Gala at the Cleveland Public Auditorium.
