ROCKY RIVER, OH —  Things are “looking up” for a Northeast Ohio family.

Ryan Walther was diagnosed with Leukemia this past August. Through the tough journey, his parents chose to take time to celebrate each accomplishment.

Ryan’s favorite restaurant is The Melting Pot, so at the end of each round of chemo, the Walther’s would go out to eat.

Ryan has now completed seven rounds of the intense treatment, so his family celebrated with, of course, a trip to The Melting Pot, along with an extra special, surprise ceremony: a balloon launch to honor Ryan’s courage and spirit.

“Ryan has been absolutely amazing. If you ask him, if you’re looking at Ryan, you never would know anything was wrong with him. He always was happy,” said Ryan’s mother Lindsey.

Lindsey says Ryan is doing much better and has now entered the next phase of his treatment, which lasts about two and a half years.
