CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sunday marks two years since Fox 8’s Stefani Schaefer’s husband, Roger, suffered a traumatic brain injury in a construction accident.

Stefani gave an update on her family’s journey since that day when he fell off scaffolding at a job site.

She posted the update on her Facebook fan page:

“Two years ago today, my children’s lives and mine were turned upside down – when my husband fell 12 feet and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. For so long, I couldn’t believe how quickly time went by. But sitting here two years later…. it seems like ten years. It’s seems like an eternity since I experienced life with my husband – especially conversations – as we knew it. I remember believing and wanting so hard to “fix things” and bring him back. It’s taken me a long time to “accept things” and understand that often times … things are just out of our control… and beyond “fixing.” My faith has deepened these last two years…. I see my children – how they’ve grown, matured and endured something so unimaginable… and yet they’ve remained so strong…. supportive and loving. Thank God for their strength and positive attitude…. and Thank GOD FOR ALL OF YOU…. for helping us… praying for us… lifting us up…. these last 730 days. I will forever be grateful! Thank you!”
