Local Radio Host Calling Howard Stern As Trial Witness
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Lawyers for a popular Cleveland radio host and his sidekick have called Sirius Radio host Howard Stern as a witness in their trial stemming from a July 4 celebration.
Shane French, known as “Rover,” was indicted on charges including resisting arrest, inducing panic, assault, vandalism and criminal damaging in the case. He was arrested early July 5 after he and another man started “shooting the fireworks in the direction [of a boater]…nearly hitting him.”
The boater was an off-duty Cleveland police officer.
Michael Toomey, known as “Chocolate Charlie,” was also arrested in the case and was charged with inducing panic, assault, vandalism and criminal damaging.
Stern is among a list of 18 witnesses to be called at trial, according to court documents.
