Jim Tressel in Top 3 to be Next President of U of A

AKRON, Ohio– Jim Tressel is one of three finalists to be the next president of the University of Akron, the university announced on Tuesday.

Tressel and the other two finalists, Scott Scarborough of the University of Toledo and Ronald Nykiel of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, will spend an entire day interviewing with various groups on campus.

Each finalist will also appear and take questions at an open forum on campus.

Tressel is the former football coach of the national-winning Ohio State Buckeyes and Youngstown State Penguins. He also applied to be president at Youngstown State University.

He’s been an administrator at the University of Akron for two years.
