CLEVELAND, Ohio — Superheroes joined forces in Cleveland Saturday to bring hope to some very sick babies and children.

Rainbow Babies and Children’s Foundation kicked off the Ride the Rainbow 2014 event at the Cleveland Convention Center.

This year, the foundation set its biggest fundraising goal to raise $1 million — and they surpassed it.

The theme of the event was “Superheroes Unite,” and more than 1,000 guests helped celebrate the mission.

Since it started in 2004, Ride the Rainbow has raised $4 million in support of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
