LAKE COUNTY — Contractors are out in Lake County this week making repairs to try and prevent more major power outages.

Tens of thousands of Illuminating Company customers were without power for hours twice last month, both on March 2 and March 8.

Residents living in Fairport Harbor had their power go out both times.

Monday, contractors began changing out insulators to hopefully prevent another incident.

Officials did not give a timeline for the project but say crews will work as long as necessary.
