The days of the week were the first words a woman from England ever heard.

Joanne Milne, 39, was recorded as her cochlear implants were switched on for the first time on Monday.

Huffington Post reports that the woman, who was born deaf, said, “It’s amazing,” as she started crying hearing the woman speak the days of the week to her.

“The switch-on was the most emotional and overwhelming experience of my life and I’m still in shock now,” Milne said.
