Massive Fire at Old Potato Chip Factory Under Control

Fire in ClevelandCLEVELAND-- About 80 firefighters battled a massive fire at the old Dan-Dee potato chip factory on East 65th St. and Sidaway Ave. in Cleveland.

The blaze broke out just before 8:30 p.m., Tuesday night.

Six to eight families were asked to leave their homes because of the smoke and flames, but were allowed to return home a short time later.

Fire officials said the building was being used to store materials.

No one was injured.

The fire is under control; however, crews will stay at the scene overnight to put out hot spots.
