My Town: Friends of Black River S.O.S. 5K

HOMERVILLE, Ohio — The annual 5K run and fun run in honor of a young resident is back for a second year.

The second annual Friends of Black River S.O.S. 5K and Mile Fun Run will be held Saturday, March 22, at the Grace Brethren Church of Homerville.

This year’s race is being held in honor of Drew Guyer, an 8th grader at¬†McCormick Middle School who died in December. Guyer, 13, was an avid sports fan.

Race-day registration is $20 and will begin at 7:30 a.m. The Mile Fun Run will begin at 9 a.m., and the 5K will immediately follow. Post-race food and beverages will be available for all runners, as well as door prizes.
